Hiroshi “Simo” Shimomura spent years engineering racing motocross bikes at Yamaha Motor. After his grandmother suffered a fall-related fracture and never recovered, he turned the impact-absorption science of racing toward the floors where older adults actually get hurt. More than 800 formulations later, that work became Magic Shields.
